N8Island works on your Mac. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and we never sell data. This page lists everything that leaves your Mac, where it goes, and why.

  1. 01What stays on your Mac

    Your settings, pages and widgets, clipboard and notification history, the files tray, and anything N8Island reads with your permission (calendar, reminders, contacts, messages and calls) are processed on your Mac and never sent to us. Imported passwords and Face Unlock data are stored in your Mac’s Keychain.

  2. 02Licensing

    When you activate a license, and about once a day afterwards, the app sends your license key and a random installation ID to our licensing service at license.n8island.com. The installation ID identifies an installation, not you. It is how one license stays on one Mac.

  3. 03Purchases and email

    Checkout is handled by Stripe. We never see your card details. We receive your email address and a record of the purchase. Your email is stored encrypted, and used only to send your license key, to resend it when you ask, and to answer you.

    The purchase page sets one short-lived cookie so that only the browser that paid can show the key. Receipts are sent by Stripe; license emails come from license@n8island.com.

  4. 04Updates

    About once a day the app asks updates.n8island.com whether a new version exists. The request includes the app’s version number, and nothing about you. Updates always ask before installing.

  5. 05Features that use Apple and websites directly

    • Weather sends your location to Apple’s WeatherKit, only while a weather widget is in use.
    • Now Playing artwork sends the song’s title and artist to Apple’s iTunes Search when the player doesn’t supply artwork.
    • App icons may be looked up on Apple’s App Store by the app’s identifier.
    • Password icons are fetched from the websites of your saved passwords, directly from your Mac.

  6. 06Service providers

    Our website, licensing, update and email services run on Cloudflare; payments run on Stripe. Like any web service, they see your IP address when you connect, and keep standard security logs. We don’t use them to build a profile of you.

  7. 07How long we keep it

    We keep your license record for as long as the license exists, so we can resend your key. A refunded or disputed purchase revokes the license. You can ask us to delete your purchase record at any time; after that we can no longer recover your key.

  8. 08Your choices

    To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email support@n8island.com from the address you bought with. This website uses no cookies or analytics; the light and dark choice is saved in your browser only.

  9. 09Changes

    If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above. Significant changes will be announced with the update that brings them.
